signals to minimize
interference is approximately 3 kHz, NOT 2 kHz
A practical way to avoid harmful interference
when selecting a frequency is
to call CQ using phone is to ask if the frequency is in use, say your
call sign, and listen for a response.
Just because you have been using a particular
frequency before there were radios does
not give you the right to interfere with
operators within the 3 KHz Band separation rule.
